Bessie Sarris of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Nazareth Hospital. She was 96 years old. Bessie was born April 22, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Christos Condros and the late Athena Condros (nee - Korelis). She is the beloved wife of the late William Sarris, and loving mother of Chris Sarris and his wife Annette, and Kathy Barlette and her husband Robert. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her stepmother Anastasia Condros, and her sister Lily Nasis.
Bessie attended Catholic School in Philadelphia, and went on to receive a bachelors degree from the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music. Bessie was a radio broadcaster for 40 years on the Hellenic voice of Philadelphia radio program. She was an avid writer, and taught piano for many years, retiring in 2020 at the age of 94.
