Marlene E. Beard of Hatboro, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Commonwealth Senior Living at Willow Grove. She was 91 years old. Marlene was born March 29, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late John Evans O’Neill and the late Marion O’Neill (nee - Crowell). She is the beloved mother of Benjamin Beard, Vicki Beard, and John Beard; grandmother of Scott and his wife Lexi Beard and Nicole Altemus and her husband Dan; great grandmother of Casey, Callie, Colin, and Isla.
Marlene was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Germantown High School. Marlene raised her children in Hatboro, PA. She worked for many years as a truant officer for Centennial School District. In her free time, Marlene enjoyed ceramics, watching her westerns, and her beloved cats.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
