The following was composed by Ken’s family:

Dr. Kenneth E. Hoelzle, 70, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love.

The love of his life is his wife, Karen. They have been devoted to each other since the day they first met over 50 years ago. He found joy in his family, particularly his children and grandchildren who he loved unconditionally.

As a beloved dentist with a private practice in Jenkintown for 45 years, he touched the lives of countless patients, cherishing each day spent caring for them. Dr. Hoelzle's commitment extended beyond his practice, as he also taught and mentored students at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School and dental residents at Abington Memorial Hospital.

His passion for helping others knew no bounds, as evidenced by his work with the UN Refugee Agency in Syria, where he provided dental care to those in need.

Dr. Hoelzle's kind words, quick smile, and infectious humor endeared him to all who knew him. His listening ear and care and concern made him a cherished and trusted friend to many.

As a man of faith, he was a devoted minister in the New Apostolic Church, finding fulfillment in guiding and counseling youth and leading his church district in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hoelzle's zest for life extended beyond his professional and philanthropic endeavors. He found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and baseball. Ken was a true early riser, he greeted each day with enthusiasm, often accompanied by his eclectic taste in music mirroring his vibrant personality. His love for food knew no bounds, with a particular fondness for pretzels, hot peppers and spaghetti. An amateur beer expert, his collection of glasses from around the world displayed just how much he enjoyed life and all its richness. His love for history intertwined with his passion for travel, as he ventured to over 40 countries with his wife and extended family. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was born March 22nd in Philadelphia to Erwin and Doris Hoelzle. He was married to Karen and is the father of Emily, and her husband David Haase, and of Matthew, and his wife Barbara, Hoelzle. He is the grandfather of Sattler, Sienna, Benjamin, Claire, and Jonathan. He is the brother of Karen Miller, Diane Doerner, and Richard Hoelzle.

He graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1971 and attended Temple University in 1975 and Temple University Dental School graduating with a degree in Dentistry in 1979.

Dr. Kenneth E. Hoelzle will be remembered for his unwavering integrity, his commitment to service, and his profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire others for generations to come.
