Gerald J. "Jerry" Perese Sr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died suddenly Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home. He was 65 years old. Jerry was born September 27, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late J. John Perese and the late Marie A. Perese (nee Grier). He is the beloved husband of Margaret S. Perese (nee Corcoran); father of Lynn Dorman and her husband David, Roseann Tierney and her husband Chris, and Gerald Perese Jr. and his wife Carla; Pop Pop of David III, Christian, Grace, Lucia, Beau, Theo, and Jude.

Jerry was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Father Judge High School. He met Peg while out with friends at a club in New Jersey in February, 1979. They married on December 15, 1979 at her home parish of St. Helena Church. They raised their growing family in the Burholme section of Philadelphia. 

Jerry was a printing pressman for many years. After retirement he worked as a handy man helping many with various projects. He was a truly gifted jack of all trades. Jerry was a patriot, a food snob who loved to cook, an avid reader, and he loved to ride his bike. His greatest passion was to spend quality time with his beloved grandkids.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.  Relatives and friends were also invited to a church viewing on Friday, March 15, 2024 beginning at 9:30 A.M and a funeral mass promptly at 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.  Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
