Aileen M. McGinty of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. She was 68 years old. Aileen was born January 11, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Thomas L. Evans and the late Helen F. Evans (nee - Burns). She is the beloved wife of the late William G. McGinty; mother of Stephen McGinty and his wife Denie and Michelle McGinty; grandmother of Grace, David, and Daniel McGinty; sister of Thomas L. Evans and his wife Irene. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Aileen was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Ancilla Domani Academy and continued her education with a degree from LaSalle University and a Masters Degree from University of Pennsylvania. Aileen and Bill met while working at Germantown Hospital after her mom introduced them to each other. They were married November 11, 1988 at St. Martin of Tours parish in the city. They raised family in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia. Aileen worked as a social worker for several years at Germantown Hospital, then the majority of her career at Frankford Hospital - Frankford. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, cruises, and vacations with family over the summers. She would look forward to dancing, spending time with her grandkids, and watching her beloved Philadelphia Eagles. She was a proud cat mom over the years to Ripple, Patches, and Lola.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 9:00 to 9:50 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.
