Eva Valeria Baumgartel (Boyd) was welcomed into heaven by her Savior and her husband Hank. She was 85 years old. She was the daughter of George and Valeria (nee Lachenman) Boyd and the beloved sister of her brother Ken (Midge), sisters Lois (Jerry Bach) and Edith (Larry Meck) and nieces and nephews.

Eva grew up on a farm in Warminster, lived in Hatboro and then in Southampton.

After graduating from William Tennent High School, she was employed by INA/CIGNA until she retired. She married Hank, the love of her life, and lived in Lawncrest, Philadelphia. They spent their summers in West Wildwood.

Hank and Eva were very involved in the Crescentville section of Philadelphia. They were active members at the Crescentville United Methodist Church. In the community they were on the Fourth of July Committee and later active in senior groups.

Eva was a caring person who devoted much of her time in caring for her husband and brother-in-law during illnesses, always with a smile. She was blessed by her many friends who watched over her this last year after the loss of her husband.

Now her spirit has returned to God who gave it and she is rejoicing in her new heavenly home.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Brendan VanGorder and Rev. Randy Brubaker from Crescentville United Methodist Church, 412 East Sentner Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Crescentville United Methodist Church, 412 East Sentner Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
