Claire H. Sulzbach of Warminster, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at her home. She was 92 years old. Claire was born January 15, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Emil Matter and the late Anna Matter (nee - Badum). She is the beloved wife of 72 years of Edward Sulzbach; Mother of David E. Sulzbach and his wife Cathy, Karen A. Howard and her husband the late James W. Howard Jr. and Diane Fischer and her husband Brian; loving grandmother of Sarah Hoffman and her husband David, Jonathan Sulzbach and his wife Erica, Daniel Sulzbach, Kenneth A. Erhart and his wife Angela, Daniel E. Erhart, Matthew James Howard and his wife Jessica, Thomas Fischer and his wife Annie, Kevin Fischer and his wife Sarah, and Jeffrey Fischer; doting great grandmother of Gideon, Isaac, Olivia, Ava, Peyton, Riley, McKenzie, Charles, Henry, Nicholas, Maxwell, James, Graeme, Emersyn. Sister of the late John Matter and the late Margaret Quinn.
Claire and Ed were childhood friends who became high school sweethearts at Olney High School. The were married on September 6, 1952 at Olney Baptist Church. They raised their family in the Crescentville section of Philadelphia. Claire worked as a cashier at Sears (on Roosevelt Boulevard) for over twenty years. In her free time, she loved to do jigsaw puzzles and cross stitch. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. and funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bayada Hospice, 650 Louis Drive, Suite 160, Warminster, PA 18974.
