Dr. Howard Louis Hausher of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, June 21, 2024 at Jeanes Hospital. He was 96 years old. Howard was born July 6, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of Louis William Hausher and Cordelia Margaret Hausher (nee - Grimley). He is the beloved husband of 61 years to Margaret Dolores (nee Brightmore) Hausher; father of Jay R. Hausher and his wife Deborah and the late Howard E. Hausher and his wife Mary; grandfather of Thomas Hausher, Mike J. Hausher Sr. and his wife Jillian, Jason Hausher and his wife Meredith and Penny Beatty and her husband Kyle; great grandfather of Sadie M. Hausher, Michael Hausher Jr., Mia Hausher, and Dalton Beatty.

Dr. Hausher was born, raised, and educated in Clifton Heights, PA. He enlisted in the US Navy in June of 1944, during the second World War. He was discharged in August of 1946. He continued his education at Ursinus College, and received his Doctorate of Osteopathy from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hausher had his family practice out of his home in Northeast Philadelphia from 1954 to 1997. He was a member of William L. Elkins Lodge no. 271 F. and A. M., an avid reader and loved trips to the Smithsonian. He was a true lifelong learner who also enjoyed theater organ and big band music. One of his greatest joys was spending time with family at the beach in Somers Point, NJ where they had a family home for over 70 years.

Services were private at the family’s request.
