Elizabeth H. "Betty" Neff of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her home. She was 103 years old. Betty was born October 26, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of William R. Hood and Carrie Hood (nee - Cockroft). She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Neff; devoted mother of Deborah and Cheryl.

Betty was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She grew up in Burholme section of Philadelphia, graduated from Olney High School, and continued her education with a degree from Temple University. She and Joe met while attending the Methodist Church of the Redeemer. They were married on June 26, 1948 at that same church.

Betty enjoyed having dogs all her life, she also enjoyed needlework and reading. She and Joe loved to visit national parks and in her later years loved sitting on the porch of a cabin, watching the wildlife, seeing the stars and enjoying God's handiwork. She raised her daughters in in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia. She was an Elementary School Teacher in Philadelphia, working at Lawndale Elementary, and later at Stearne Elementary until her retirement in 1983.

Betty was an active member at Berachah Church and a true Prayer Warrior. For years, her ministry has been one of encouragement as she sent cards and notes to the many people she loved and prayed for. When asked what she wanted to be known for, her answer was "I know whom I have believed and am persuaded He is able to keep that which I've committed to Him against that day. She loved the Lord and wants you to also. Betty also was involved in the lives of Ellen & Val, and other daughters of the heart, whom she loved, encouraged and prayed for regularly.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Berachah Church, 400 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.

Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Wilson Bever from Berachah Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Berachah Church, 400 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.
