Rosemarie "Rose" Kuchar of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday April 11, 2025 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She was 74 years old. Rose was born on August 25, 1950 in Abington PA, daughter of the late Theodor Gauss and the late Anna Gauss (nee-Schaeffer). She is the beloved wife of Peter Kuchar; mother of Jason Kuchar (Marykate) and Michael Kuchar (Jamie); Oma to Morgan, Theodor, Collin and Emily; Sister of Peter Gauss (Nancy) and Fred "Siegfried" Gauss (Marianne). She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and their families.

Rose met Peter Kuchar on December 31, 1964. They dated for 7 years before getting married on October 16, 1971. In 1973 they moved into the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia. They have resided in the family home for 54 years where they raised their family.

Rose grew up in Fox Chase and attended St. Cecillia Elementary School and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. During high school Rose volunteered at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia as a candy-striper. She attended Miseracordia Hospital School of Nursing and earned a nursing degree in May of 1970. Rose returned to Jeanes Hospital as a floor nurse in 1970. She later transferred to the Operating Room where she worked until retiring in 2015 after 45 years of employment. During her time at Jeanes Hospitals Operating Room she became the OR Charge Nurse and acted as the Nursing Supervisor. Rose also received the Pennsylvania Nurses Association Staff Nurse Recognition Award.

When Rose was not working she enjoyed spending time at home gardening. She also liked to bake making all kinds of cookies and cakes for her family. She was known for making special birthday cakes for all of her grandchildren. Roses favorite thing was spending time with her family. She loved going down to Ocean City NJ with her whole family and spend weeks down the shore fishing at Corson's Inlet, hanging out on the beach and going to the boardwalk. She also took the entire family to Walt Disney World for a week. Rose enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and loved having them over the house after school feeding them all the snacks they would not get at home. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
