The following obituary was written by Steven’s family and friends.

Always surrounded by his loving family and friends Steven passed away after a hard fought battle with glioblastoma. Steven was a lifelong resident in his beautiful family home in his beloved neighborhood of Fox Chase, Philadelphia. He built himself a life that surrounded him with the people he loved and the homes and trinkets he cherished. His pride and joy was his amazing beach home which he renovated, curated and shared, and with it cherished all the friendships that ensued along the way. His professional life was dedicated to Joseph’s Pizza Parlor and Moonstruck in Fox Chase alongside his friends Claire and Toto working at this establishment for over 50 years in various roles that made him the go to guy! Through this establishment Steven grew amazing lifelong friendships.

Steven had immense joy in his yearly Christmas decorating for his friends' restaurants but also his own beautiful Fox Chase home. His love of architecture and design was reflected in his homes and in the homes of others. His knack for the finishing touch always shone through and was also appreciated at his job with Ralph Lauren in Philadelphia. Steven had a love of carpentry and furniture restoration and took great pride in the items he created and displayed. His babies were his two vintage Mustangs lovingly restored alongside his friend Tim and enjoyed by many.

Steve’s greatest loves though were his friendships and family: with his best friend and father Paul (predeceased), his mother Susan (predeceased), his sister in law Anna Marie (Harriet), sister in law Betty, his brothers (predeceased) David and John, his loving nieces and nephews Bryan, Jennifer, Robbie, Terry, Johnny, Danny (predeceased) and his great nieces and nephews. He cherished his friends from Joseph’s Pizza, his lifelong friends from Fox Chase, his Sea Isle City family, and all his other wonderful friends from near and far. Steven loved us all and wasn’t ready to leave us and he fought every day. “I love this life too much to leave“ he would say repeatedly.

We were all blessed to be a part of Steven’s life journey and adventure. Our beautiful sweet friend will be missed but remembered for the happiness that he brought to us. So whenever you see a disco ball, hear a Barry White song or the perfect disco tune, Steven will be there dancing alongside us with a smile on his face and a negroni in his hand!

Special thank you to Honor Home Care, Unique Home Care, Jefferson Oncology team, Penn Oncology team, and Penn Hospice for helping Steven with his medical needs and for assisting us with keeping Steven in his beautiful homes while he fought his cancer battle. Steven was blessed with the loving friendships of Anna Marie, Claire and Jane who were honored with the roles of advocating for Steve so he had the best of medical care, his wishes were carried out and his well being and dignity were respected. To his buddies Jerry and Tommy for making certain Steve's homes could serve him well during this challenging time and to all the friends and family who helped at home or the shore. A big thank you to Matt and Jimmy of Joseph's Pizza for the gifts of friendship and employment until the end in his beloved Joseph’s Pizza Parlor.

Steven was so blessed in life and he expressed this every single day ! Enjoy the next adventure Sunshine ☀ we will miss you dear friend ❤
