Robert Edward "Bob" Pessel of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 11, 2025 at Horsham Center for Jewish Life. He was 88 years old. Bob was born May 7, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Walter Pessel and the late Josephine Pessel. He is the beloved husband of Eileen M. Pessel; father of Robin Bodine and her husband Greg, Bob Pessel and his wife Pam, and Steven Pessel and his wife Rebecca; grandfather of Austin, Kyle, Kayla, Erin, Courtney, Claire, and Rhiannon. One great grandchild on the way.

Bob was born, raised, and educated in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Jules E. Mastbaum High School in Philadelphia. Bob and Eileen met at a Dick Clark Dance at the Bridesburg recreation center. The two have been inseparable since. Bob joined the United States Army and served honorably at Fort Dix and Fort Leonard Wood,in Missouri, as a private driver for the Captain. He was discharged in August of 1956. Bob and Eileen were married on November 2, 1957 at Fox Chase United Methodist Church where Eileen has been a lifelong member. After his discharge form the Army, Bob went to work at Nesbitt Heating and Air Conditioning. He also worked down the road in Burholme for Good Humor Ice Cream filling the truck with treats.

Bob met someone at Good Humor who convinced him to go for a job at SEPTA. He became a Driver for SEPTA, first on the Germantown Trolley, and later at the Comly Bus Depot. Not one to slow down, Bob went to work for Willow Grove Land Rover delivering cars after his retirement from SEPTA. Bob liked cars and was very knowledgeable of their inner working. He also was an avid fan of the Phillies, 76ers, and Eagles.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Fox Chase United Methodist Church, 201 Loney Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
