Betty Jane Sheerin (Stewart), born August 24, 1939, daughter to Joseph and Dorothy Stewart (Gale), passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 8, 2025 after a 3 year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her children John Jr. (Karen) and Jamie Kelly (Bob), brother Joseph Stewart (Jeanette), sister Marguerite Salemmo (Sonny) also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her children Joni, Joey (Theresa), and Jannine Lucini (James), and her sisters Dorothy McCauley (Ed) and Joan Roemhild (Bob).

Born in Germantown, PA., Betty attended Immaculate Conception grade school and was a proud graduate of Little Flower High School. Those early years were filled with family, friends and sports. She often could be found playing basketball or baseball with the neighborhood boys. Mom’s love of sports continued into adulthood. She enjoyed watching and cheering on her favorites golf, tennis,
76ers and the Eagles. But her true passion was her Philadelphia Phillies. We would often hear her 2 out shuffle which she swore was just the mojo they needed.

Such a wonderful mother, she worked hard to raise her 5 children. She was a loving caregiver to her mother Dorothy Stewart and a good buddy to Peggy Ann Rickard. Her family held a special place in her heart. She had many names: Mom, Aunt Betts, Gram, Grandmom and GG and she loved every one of them. Her love was reciprocated, leaving a mark that will never fade.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:20 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center - Fox Chase Cancer Center - Institutional Advancement Department, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111, or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.

Family flowers arranged by Blake Florist 215-379-8787.
