Francis J. "Frank" Heger Jr. of Horsham, Pennsylvania died Sunday, October 12, 2025 at his home. He was 92 years old. Frank was born February 27, 1933 in Roslyn, Pennsylvania, son of the late Frank J. Heger Sr. and the late Catherine Heger (nee - Matt). He is the beloved husband of the late Mary Louise Heger; father of Francis J. Heger III, Lisa Ann Peterson and her husband John, and Theresa Geary and her husband Monty; grandfather of Justin Heger (Lauren), Caitlin Pawlak (Justin), Tyler Heger, Bryant Heger (Jamie), Megan Peterson, Brendan Peterson (David), and Taylor Troutman (Nick); great grandfather of Kyle, Chase, Adelynn, Mackenzie, Lily, Dillan, Levi, Maverick, Payton, Finn, and Maven.
Frank was a graduate of Abington High School in 1952, at which time he enlisted in the Air Force. Frank’s parents were good friends of the Hauer family, the two couples would bring their children to bridge club and social occasions where Frank met Mary Louise Hauer. The two went their separate ways through schooling and military service. When Frank was discharged from the Air Force, he once again was at a social get-together with the Hauer family and snuck away with Mary Louise. The two were married on January 10, 1959 at St. Helena’s Church in the Olney section of Philadelphia. Their family grew as Frank Jr.’s work had the family on the move to Oregon, Nevada, Massachusetts and finally in 1965 back to the Philadelphia area where they made their home in Horsham, PA. Frank worked at Burroughs (UniSys) as a technical writer and later managed an engineering team. He retired in 1991 and along with Mary Louise they took care of their grandchildren. Frank was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening in his younger days. He enjoyed family vacations and get togethers, any reason to get the family together in one spot.
