The following obituary was written by Charles’ family.

Charles “Charlie” Mulligan, of Rockledge, Pennsylvania, a proud United States Navy veteran and lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years old. Charles was born December 20, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of William Mulligan and Josephine Mulligan (nee - Curran).

He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy, and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carol (nee - Stone); daughters Kathy Mancini (husband Anthony) and Carolann Barrett (husband Kevin); sons Michael and Chip (wife Lisa); sister Joanne Reilly (husband Patrick); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Charles is also predeceased by his brothers Bill and Robert Mulligan, and his sisters Marlene Wydro and Ruth Mulligan, RSM.

Born in 1935, Charlie was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and lived a life full of devotion to family, service, and community. After his military service, he worked for many years at the Philadelphia Aviation Supply Office, the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, and the Defense Logistics Agency, where he was known for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Charlie’s quick wit, kindness, and unwavering pride in his country touched everyone who knew him. He loved cheering for the Phillies and Eagles and spending time with his family and his dog Edie.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. and military honors rendered by the United States Navy followed at 11:30 A.M. at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal, PA 19046.
