The following was composed by Ann’s family:

Ann Marie Glunz Ortiz, of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on October 26, 2025. She was 73 years old. Ann was born on December 28, 1951 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to Joan (Ryan) and Bernard Glunz. Ann and her husband, Juan, shared 53 very happy and loving years of marriage. Ann was mother to three sons, Christopher, Jonathan, and Daniel, and loving mother-in-law to Judy, Erin, and Gina; grandmother to 8 grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Wesley, Anthony, Emyr, Sonia, Penelope, Michael, Gabriel, and Dominic. Ann was the eldest sister to Steven, Laure, and Barbara.

Ann was a proud graduate of Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, PA, before earning her college degree from West Chester University with a focus in elementary education. From there, Ann admirably served hundreds of students as an elementary and pre-school teacher across the Philadelphia and Montgomery County region before retiring as an esteemed Kindergarten teacher from the Springfield Township School District. In retirement, Ann enjoyed travelling with her husband and family, with favorite destinations including: Alaska, the U.S. National Parks of the American West, Europe, Sea Isle City, and more.

Ann’s impact on her community is strong. A selfless friend and educator, Ann was filled with gratitude and a quiet strength that served her and others well during all of life’s experiences. Ann was known to have a constant sense of dignity, honesty, and positivity. Always an anchor of her family and friends, Ann was a friend, a loved one, and a trusted source of guidance and support for so many others, and she will be deeply missed by so many.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:45 A.M., Words of remembrance at 11:45 A.M., and Funeral Mass at 12:00 P.M. at St. Alphonsus Church, 1567 Temple Drive, Maple Glen, PA 19002. Interment was private.

Religious services were conducted by Mnsgr. Brian Hennesey from St. Alphonsus Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Red Cross of Southeastern PA, 700 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
