The following obituary was written by Hans’ family.

Hans Peter Hansen passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 1st, 2025 at the age of 71. He was born on 3/26/1954 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Hans Hansen and Irma Hansen.

Surviving him are his beloved wife Wendy (nee Hand) Hansen; father of the late Craig Hansen (son Jonathan); Kristen Elizabeth Rodriguez and her husband Michael, and their sons Johnathan (predeceased by Craig Hansen) and Jaxon; and Karen Marie Williams, and her husband Walter, and their sons Aiden and Austin. Step father to Nova Tarapchak and the late Megan Hand-Bornmann. He is also survived by his sister Heidi Schmollinger, and her husband Robert.

Hans lived all over the country due to his ever changing and evolving work industry and his employment with Nussex. His eldest child, Craig Peter Hansen was born in Philadelphia, PA however his daughters were born in Stockton, CA (Kristen) and Chicago, IL (Karen) before relocating back in 1984. Hans lived the majority of his life in Lake Wynonah which is located in Auburn, PA.

Hans was educated within the Philadelphia School District and attended Spring Garden College where he graduated with is Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Engineering and started working for Nussex Corporation. Superseding that was his employment with Allied Security, where he worked as a Shift Manager for over 20 years. No matter where he worked, he built strong relationships and was beloved by his staff.

During his life, Hans took pleasure in the simple things, namely nature and family. He chose to plant his roots, with both his home and his precious trees in Lake Wynonah, a private, gated community in Schuylkill County, PA. It was there that he met his wife Wendy, who became and integral part of his life for the past 26 years. He was also an avid motorcycle rider, enjoying riding both alone or within a group. His participated in many rides for charity and took pleasure in the open air admiring the mountains, lakes and houses. He also loved his vehicles and could often be found working to keep them clean and maintenanced.

Hans loved his family and was an active and engaged father who was only a phone call away. Though he lived a distance elsewhere, he was always available, and would drop everything in a heartbeat to get where he needed to be. He was a selfless man who cared very deeply.

He will be deeply missed by friends and family.
