Joseph James McKenna of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Commonwealth Senior Living at Willow Grove. He was 81 years old. Joseph was born June 17, 1944 in Springfield, Massachusetts, son of the late James E. McKenna and the late Concetta McKenna (nee - Raffa). He is the father of Joseph Jr. and William McKenna; brother of Mary O’Neill and her husband Edward, Patricia McKenna, Kathleen McKenna, Elizabeth Tana, Jude McKenna and his wife Julia, Emmett McKenna, and Therese McKenna. He is also survived by Tara Little and her husband Levi, many nieces, and nephews.
Joe was raised and educated in the Swampoodle section of Philadelphia. He was a proud graduate, in 1962, of North Catholic High School. Joe worked as a sorter and shop steward for nearly 40 years at the United States Postal Service in Center City and later at the Philadelphia Airport office. Joe enjoyed automobiles when younger. He also enjoyed bike riding with his friend Bill Flynn. Joe was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, enjoyed shooting pool, and listening to the music of Leonard Cohen, and Janis Joplin. Joe was a happy cat owner for many years.
Services will be held privately.
