Joseph David McNamara of Warminster, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at his home. He was 88 years old. Joseph was born May 1, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Joseph McNamara and the late Mary McNamara (nee - Aikens). He is the beloved husband of the late Valerie Anne Force McNamara; devoted father of David McNamara and his wife Kathryn and Valerie Casabona; grandfather of 5; brother of Gerrard McNamara and his wife the late Betty, the late David McNamara, and the late Theresa Simon

Joe graduated from North Catholic High School in 1956. He was a huge fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. His heart was broken when Moore’s Inlet in North Wildwood was closed. Joe was one of the first Americans who were to walk into East Berlin at the time that the wall came down between East and West Germany. He was devoted to his family and friends. Joe was not afraid to treat himself to his own Christmas gifts.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 2535 East Allegheny Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134. His graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150. Fr. James Olson will provide the religious service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation Trisomy 21 program, PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178.
