Helen D. Thome of Ambler, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 28, 2025. She was 93 years old. Born on February 19, 1932, in Abington, Pennsylvania, Helen was the daughter of the late William Thome Sr. and Paula Matilda Thome (née Schmidt). She was preceded in death by her brother, William Thome Jr., and his wife Mary. Helen is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: William R. Thome and his wife Loary, Robert C. Thome and his wife Ann, and Linda M. Solt. She was a proud great-aunt to Amanda Barnhart (David), William Thome (Cheryl), Daniel Thome (Kate), Elizabeth Thome, Benjamin Thome (Becky), Joshua Thome, Abigail Hamaker (Jake), Kate Thome, Cody Thome, Andrew Thome, Rachel Thome, Robert Thome, Victoria Walters (Jake), Jason Solt, and Erica Solt. She also cherished her role as great-great-aunt to eleven.

Helen was raised and educated in Horsham, PA, and graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School. After graduation, her family moved to Upper Dublin. She soon began working for the family business, William Thome, Inc. Electrical Contractor, where she served as a secretary and later a bookkeeper. Her dedication and commitment led her to become a part owner in 1988.

A longtime and devoted member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge, Helen found joy in community and friendships. She loved gardening, decorating her home—especially during the holidays—and took great pride in creating warm, festive spaces. In her younger years, Helen traveled widely, exploring destinations around the world.

Helen was happiest when surrounded by family. She was well known for her memorable Fourth of July pool parties, festive Christmas gatherings, and her generous spirit as a host. Her home was a place of laughter, tradition, and togetherness.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., followed by her funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. A graveside service followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park
1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Phil Strunk of Bux-Mont Christian Church, 400 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA 18974.

Family flowers are being arranged by LeRoy’s Flowers and Gifts, Inc. 215-323-5407.

Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will be remembered always.
