Dolores Regina Mullligan (nee Weidtman) of Cape May, New Jersey, (formerly of Roslyn, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on December 19, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Dolores was born on August 27th 1936, Brooklyn, New York, to the late August Weidtman and the late Catherine Mcauley Weidtman. She grew up in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Midwood High School.
At the age of 14, Dolores met the love of her life, Joseph T. Mulligan, who lived just around the corner. The two shared a lifelong bond and were married on March 10, 1956, in Brooklyn. They were devoted to one another for 49 years until Joseph's passing. Together they raised family in New York and Pennsylvania, moving as needed while Joseph proudly served for 20 years in the United States Navy.
Dolores was a loving and dedicated mother to Veronica (Ronnie) and her husband Edward McMenamin, Joseph A. Mulligan II and his wife Cari B. Mulligan, Mary Katherine Mobley, Tracy and her husband Rob Bartron, and the late Dolores (Lori) Carroll. She was a proud and cherished Nana to 14 grandchildren and G Nana to 14 great grandchildren.
Dolores is also survived by her siblings, Walter Weidtman and his wife, Joann, Catherine Truman and Geri Atkinson. She was preceded in death by her brothers Bill and John. Dolores (Aunt Dee) will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Dolores found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as going to the bay in Cape May and watching the ferry, playing bingo at the Senior Center, but most especially, Dolores loved cooking for and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Relatives and friends were also invited to her viewing on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. and funeral service starting at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Joseph F. Rymdeika and Deacon Mario G. Mirabelli of St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044.
