Josef K. Szentjobi, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on January 20, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Josef and Christa Szentjobi and the twin brother of Herbert. Josef was married to his lifelong sweetheart, the late Janette C. Szentjobi (nee Culver), for over 48 years. Though they had no children, he is survived by his twin brother Herbert, Herbert's wife Eileen, and their children Raymond, Anna, Brian Mangan (Kathleen), Josef, and Liam. He is also survived by his cousin, Anna Schulz (nee Szentjobi), and her two daughters and family.

Joe attended Bishop Neumann High School (now Saints Neumann Goretti) in South Philadelphia, graduating in June 1973. The next summer, he married a neighborhood girlfriend, Janette, and their marriage lasted 48 years until her passing in November 2022. Joe worked as a bank courier and later as a shuttle bus driver. After numerous bank mergers, he became a teamster bus driver for First Transit at the Philadelphia International Airport until his retirement.

Throughout his life, Joe faced many health challenges, including a cancer diagnosis in the winter of 1974. Both he and his wife experienced bouts of illness that severely tested their marriage. This led them to decide not to have children. However, they found joy in spoiling their niece and four nephews.

An avid reader of space and science literature, Joe's eyes were always focused onto the heavens. He enjoyed building computers from parts purchased at computer shows and tinkering with lasers and antimagnetic/gravity devices. God willing, he is now exploring the heavens he so dearly loved. Josef is also survived by his two cats, Kirk and Spock.

Donations in his memory can be made to PAWS Downtown Adoption Center, Attn: Donor Services, 100 N 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
