The following obituary was composed by Sieggy’s family:

Siegfried “Sieggy” Koschewitz, 87, of Southampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully around close family on February 20, 2026. was born in Gladbeck, Germany. He was the beloved husband of the late Mathilda “Tillie” Koschewitz and the late Joyce Jolly. He was a devoted father of Christine Jakobs and John Koschewitz, a loving father-in-law to Eileen Koschewitz, a proud Opa to Jayden Koschewitz, and a cherished uncle to Helen and John Flack.

Sieggy was born in Gladbeck, Germany. At age 18, Sieggy bravely immigrated to the United States with only a few belongings and a note in his pocket that read, “I ONLY SPEAK GERMAN.” Through determination and hard work, he went on to build a meaningful and fulfilling life in his new country.

A lifelong soccer enthusiast, Sieggy dedicated many years to the Kolping Soccer Club, the First German Sports Club Phoenix, and the United German Hungarian Club, where he and Tillie served as managers. He also maintained a special connection to his hometown club, SV Zweckel.

At age 60, he began a second career as a school bus driver for the Neshaminy School District, working joyfully until age 75. He was also a proud member and former Master of the Humboldt Lodge.

Sieggy loved cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, watching his grandson Jayden play soccer, fishing “down the shore,” playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. His warmth, humor, and love of people touched all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. his masonic service at 11:00 A.M. and his funeral service at 11:15 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
