Alfred A. Hahn Jr., 87, of Ivyland, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Neshaminy Manor. Born July 8, 1938, in Washington, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Alfred A. Hahn Sr. and the late Liddy Hahn (née Eger). Alfred grew up in the Juniata Park section of Northeast Philadelphia and graduated from Central High School. He continued his education with a civil engineering degree from Drexel University.

Alfred, better known as Al, proudly served his country in the United States Army beginning in November 1961. He married the love of his life, Lorraine (née Tropea) Hahn, on December 2, 1961, at Holy Innocents Church in Juniata Park. Following his military service at Fort Hood, Texas as a 1st Lieutenant, the couple settled in Warminster, Pennsylvania, where they lovingly raised their family.

Al began his professional career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia before dedicating 35 years of service to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). His work took him across the United States, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific, responding to natural disasters and helping communities rebuild. During his distinguished career, he met President George W. Bush and numerous governors, and he played a role in recovery efforts following the September 11 attacks at the Pentagon.

Al was the beloved husband of Lorraine Hahn; loving father of Lisa Verani (Craig), Jeffrey Hahn (Carol), and Jennifer Linwood (Bill); proud grandfather of Kevin (Sara), Christopher (Bea), and Mary Verani; Megan and Brian Hahn; Melissa Hamilton (Tom), Brianna Gottschall (Brandon), and Justin Linwood (Jill); and cherished great-grandfather of Quinn, Cole, and Bodie.

He was the brother of the late Margaret Schubert (the late Harry) and the late Eleanor Parichuk (the late Paul), and brother-in-law of the late Deanna Tropea. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Al was a lifelong member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge where he enjoyed playing Skat on Friday nights with friends.  He also found great joy in the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially treasured time spent boating and family trips to Strathmere, New Jersey. In retirement, he devoted himself to gardening and landscaping, taking pride in the beauty of his home. A passionate photographer, he captured countless memories of family and friends at gatherings and special occasions. He was also a steadfast supporter of his wife’s dance studio and career. With numerous friends made through the dance studio, the couple travelled on many cruises and a trip to Italy. Above all, Al will be remembered as a devoted family man whose life was centered on love, service, and dedication to others.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., followed by a time for sharing at 12:30 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Interment followed with military honors by the U.S. Army at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
