The following obituary was composed by Diane’s family:

Diane Leslie Trounson-Chaiken, 59, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026 at her home in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania with her beloved husband Warren by her side.

Diane is survived by her sons, Ben of New York City, Josh of Chicago and her brother, David (Laura) of Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Wallace Trounson, and her brother, Cliff.

Born and raised in New York City, Diane earned a BA from Barnard College and a Doctorate in Psychology from New York University and St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital.

Diane met her husband Warren on a trip to Boston and eventually moved to Blue Bell, PA, near Philadelphia. There, as a psychologist, Diane worked with troubled children at Northwest Mental Health Center and taught at Beaver College (now Arcadia University) and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Although Diane became a dedicated fan of Philadelphia sports teams, she always loved New York City and returned there with friends and family often.

She and her family traveled the world together, collecting stories and memories at every turn. Her legendary cookie party was the stuff of neighborhood lore - an annual gathering that brought together the many great friends she treasured. To know Diane was to hear her say, with that familiar sincerity, "Love you to the moon and back."

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 starting promptly at 10:45 A.M. in the Grand Ballroom at Normandy Farm, 1401 Morris Road, Blue Bell, PA 19422 followed by a proper party in Diane’s honor.

Donations in her memory may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center - Institutional Advancement Department, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111 or at the link above.
