Larry J. Arnold of Abington, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was 77 years old. Larry was born January 6, 1949 in Patuxent River, Maryland, son of the late Merlin Lee Arnold and the late Vivian Mildred Arnold (nee - Drew). He is the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Ann Arnold; Father of Amy Ingram and her husband John, Doug Arnold and his wife Amy, and Brian Arnold and his wife the late Leah; grandfather of Nicolle, John, Kayla, Ashley, Kelly, Brian, and Jackson; brother of Edith Stauch and her husband the late Edward, Michael Arnold, the late Harvey Arnold, the late Bonnie Reinhart and her husband the late Lou, and the late Mark Arnold and his wife the late Nancy and many nieces and nephews.
Larry graduated from William Tennent High School in 1967. He joined the United States Army in August of 1968 and was honorably discharged in April of 1970 having reached the rank of Sergeant E5. Larry met Liz at the Hot Shoppes in Abington. They were married while Larry was on rest and relaxation from the Army in Hawaii during the Vietnam War. Their love story started in Hawaii and lasted 55 years until Liz’s passing in 2024. Larry and Liz raised their family in Abington and they enjoyed cruises, trips to the beach and spending time with their family.
Larry was a long-time member at Calvary Chapel in Philadelphia and loved to serve in the church ministry. He was a faithful devoted man to the Lord Jesus his family and his country. He especially liked sharing the gospel of Christ.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and memorial service at 10:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service followed with military honors rendered by the United States Army at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
Religious services were conducted by Pastor Gilbert Trusty from Calvary Chapel, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Calvary Chapel, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
