Fred Edward Welcker of Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of Warminster, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Meadowview Nursing Center in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania on May 15, 2026. He was 81 years old.

Born on March 30, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Fred was the son of the late Frederick Gottlieb Welcker and Beatrice Brennan Kilderry.

Fred had six siblings: Barbara, Joanne, Christine, James, Margaret Mary, and Kevin.

Fred was a loving father as well as a great friend. He enjoyed working with his hands, building and repairing just about anything. He was a modern day “MacGyver.”

Fred had a store, Reflection Fantasy, in the former Village Mall in Horsham, Pennsylvania. He taught stained glass art at the Upper Moreland Adult Evening School in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Fred’s talents were displayed at the many craft shows he attended over the years. He enjoyed working in his kitchen, and made the best pizzas and homemade fudge.

Fred loved motorcycles and boating. He truly enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Neshaminy State Marina and at the cove in Tullytown along the Delaware River.

An avid football fan, he spent many Sundays watching the game on TV. Although, he resided in North Carolina for over 20 years, his heart belonged to his home team Philadelphia Eagles.

Fred loved doing things his own way, and we can safely say his life’s theme song was “My Way”, by Frank Sinatra. His smile and infectious laughter will always be missed.

Fred is survived by his daughters Kristi Welcker Dufala (Ken) of Quakertown, and Vanessa Welcker of Chalfont. He is also survived by his lifelong partner Kristine Willis, grandchildren Ryan (Danielle), Skylar, Marissa, Alexa, Cora, and great grandchildren Paisley, Valerie and Francis.

Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

His memorial service was held privately with his family.
