Paul Barnes, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Paul was a proud United States Navy veteran, motorcycle and trike enthusiast, and devoted family man who lived life on his own terms. Known to many in the motorcycle community by his road name, “Pops,” Paul was a familiar face on both motorcycles and trikes and treasured the friendships he built through the riding community. He was respected for his strong personality, loyalty, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Whether he was sharing stories, spending time with family, or enjoying life on two and three wheels, Paul left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Paul dedicated much of his working life to Sam’s Club, where he worked for more than three decades and built countless friendships over the years. He took pride in hard work, providing for his family, and the relationships he formed throughout his career.
He took great pride in his family and especially cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, extended family, and many lifelong friends. Few things brought him more joy than talking about his grandchildren, sharing stories about them, and celebrating their accomplishments. Even in his final months, conversations about Cooper, Zach, and Alana could bring a smile to his face.
He was also deeply proud of his biker family, whose friendship and support meant so much to him throughout his life.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Evelyn Barnes, and his sister, Sue.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacey, and her husband, Jay; his son, Paul Jr., and his wife, Alicia; his grandsons, Cooper and Zach; his granddaughter, Alana; his sister, Evelyn, and her husband, David; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, fellow riders, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
In his final months, Paul was surrounded by extraordinary love and support from family and friends who visited often, shared stories, offered comfort, and reminded him how much he meant to them. The family takes comfort in knowing he was never alone and was deeply loved until the very end.
Paul will be remembered for his strength, independence, love of riding, devotion to family, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service followed with military honors rendered by the United States Navy at 11:45 A.M. at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A reception followed at MaGerks Pub and Grill, 307 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044.
