The following obituary was composed by Joanne’s family:

Joanne Alexander, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2026, at Luther Woods Nursing Home in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joanne was the beloved wife of the late Steven Alexander; devoted daughter of the late John Calvecchio and Josephine Calvecchio; and cherished stepdaughter of the late Eleanor Calvecchio. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Calvecchio and Thomas Calvecchio, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Marc Alexander and Angela Uren.

Joanne is survived by her loving siblings, Ellen Calvecchio and Joseph “Joey” Calvecchio.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her six children: Angela Scheidell; Richard Alexander and his spouse Jeanna Alexander; Michael Alexander and his spouse Jillian Alexander; Michele Quiles; and her stepchildren Joan Alexander and Tina Potchen and her spouse, Michael Potchen, whom she lovingly embraced as her own.

Joanne was a proud and cherished grandmother to Stephen Uren, Joseph Uren, Isabella Rooney, Sophia Alexander, Olivia Alexander, Josephine Quiles, Sarah Alexander, and Eleanor Alexander. Her beautiful legacy continues through her four great-grandchildren: Molly Uren, Aiden Uren, Liam Uren, and Connor Uren.

Joanne had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for life. She enjoyed dancing, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, and most of all, spending time with her family. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Snoopy, who was her constant and faithful companion.

Joanne will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
