Francis (Frank) J. McClenaghan of Philadelphia, PA died in the early hours of May 24, 2026. He was 81 years old. Frank was born on January 14, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA to Charles and Catherine (nee Canney). Frank was the loving husband of Jill (nee Rosenfeldt) for 32 years. Frank is survived by his stepdaughters Gail Griffin (Robert) and Wendy Laughlin (Sean), his grandchildren, Jackson, Lenora, Joshua, Reid, Ethan, and Cora; his nieces and nephews, Maureen Handschuh, Charles (Chip) McClenaghan (Gina), Colleen McClenaghan (Camilo), and Michael McClenaghan; and his extended family, Alan and Linda Levine, Eric and Jennifer Bender, and Mary McClenaghan. He is predeceased by his brother, Charles McClenaghan (Amy) and sister, Margaret Jones (Robert).
Frank attended Cardinal Dougherty High School and worked various retail jobs over his lifetime, including thirty years with Sears & Roebuck and many years with Home Depot. He was a hard worker, a man of faith, and a good husband, stepdad, and neighbor.
Frank was a hardcore Philly sports fan, especially Eagles football, and was a season ticket holder for many years. After Jill’s passing, Frank moved down to warmer, sunnier Florida and lived there for about 8 years. He enjoyed the warmer weather and ocean air, but kept his Philly roots close during football season, cheering on his favorite team at an “all Eagles” sports bar.
Frank was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
