Joanne was the devoted mother of Charles (Julie), William (Joanne), Irene Neveil (Tom), David (Carolann), and Louise Wheeler (Michael); loving grandmother of Chaz, Michelle Souza (Raphael), Amy Varley (Tim), Bill (Schuyler), Nick, Thomas, Anthony (Danica), Alison (Amy), Eric, Kristen Baraniewicz (Brian), David (Olivia), Gabriella, Samantha, and Andrew (Emma); and proud great-grandmother of Carly, Emma, Jack, Owen, Liam, Eliza, Thomas, Dylan, Finn, Elena, and Eden.

Joanne shared a long and loving marriage with Charlie, and together they raised their family in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia. They created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and celebration, making every holiday and birthday special for family and friends, both at home and in Sea Isle City. Joanne encouraged and supported her children in all their pursuits and always reminded them that they could accomplish anything they set their minds to. Everyone who entered their home felt welcomed and loved.

Joanne enjoyed a successful career as a Human Resources Manager with Keystone Shipping, where she worked for more than 20 years and formed many dear and lasting friendships.

She also loved the arts and regularly organized theater outings in Philadelphia with coworkers and her daughters. Joanne was passionate about Philadelphia culture and especially loved cheering for the Eagles.

A talented and creative woman, Joanne was an exceptional cook and baker with remarkable skills in decorating, sewing, and quilting. She lovingly made outfits for her daughters, including matching dresses, prom gowns, and bathing suits, as well as custom sofa covers and drapes for her home. Once inspired, she approached every project with enthusiasm, determination, and creativity.
