Thomas J. O’Neill of Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Manor. He was 74 years old. Born on October 14, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Thomas was the beloved son of the late Charles J. O’Neill and the late Sally M. O’Neill (née Brown).
Tom grew up in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia and attended Nativity B.V.M. School. In 1970, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1972. During his military service, he was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Base outside Seattle, Washington, where he serviced aircraft during the Vietnam War. Following his active-duty service, Tom continued his commitment to his country by serving in the Naval Reserves for ten years. After returning home, Tom began a long career at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, where he worked faithfully for 25 years.
Tom enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and was an avid fan of classic television, especially old Westerns and the long-running Doctor Who series. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, dedication to family, and pride in his military and civilian service.
He was the brother of the late Charles J. O’Neill, the late Raymond M. O’Neill, the late Dennis J. O’Neill, and is survived by his brother, Councilman Brian J. O’Neill and his wife, Joy. He will also be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:20 A.M., followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Manor, 1616 Huntingdon Pike, Meadowbrook, PA 19046.
Religious services were conducted by Father Jacob John of St. Joseph’s Manor.
