John Edward Zielger Jr. died in his home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday June 16th. He is survived by his fabulous wife, Margaret Ziegler. John has three supportive children Margaret and John Stansfield, Tina Ziegler and Frank, Johnny Zielger and Cindy.

John is known as Poppop to 8 grandchildren: Chris, Dylan and Mirabelle Clayton, Daniel, Nick, Titus, Nathan, and Francesca. He has two sisters, Betty Ann Woolf and Alice Jean Stinson. John Jr. was born in Philadelphia on September 21st, 1950 to John Zielger Sr. and Alice Bailey. During his time at Mastbaum High School, he met the “prettiest girl at the dance”, Margaret, affectionately known to him as Peg. Their love was born that day and would grow to last over 57 years.

To provide for his loving wife and family, John joined the trades as a Union Carpenter for the Teamsters. Through decades of working two, sometimes three jobs, “Ziggy” started, owned, and operated his construction company, but would tell you the hardest job was held by his wife at home.

More than two decades past as John worked side by side with his son, Johnny. Second to loving his family, his favorite activity was golf. John cherished the moments he spent with his friends, children, and grandchildren golfing. John would tell you he was blessed to be the foundation for such a wonderful family. He would want all of you to know that he was proud of his children and grandchildren, he was passionate for teaching golf and the trades, and held a never-ending love for his wife, best friend, and the prettiest girl at the dance.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. and funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

Religious services were conducted by Father Michael Pawelko.
