The following obituary was composed by Jorge’s family:
Jorge O. Manchola, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after traveling from his residence in Margate, Florida.
Born in Huila, Neiva, Colombia, South America, Jorge was the beloved son of the late Hermogenes and Gregoria Manchola. He attended school in his hometown and later pursued his GED after coming to the United States. Jorge proudly served in the military in Neiva, Colombia, before beginning a long and dedicated working career. He worked in the textile and assembly industries and continued working part-time at DisneyQuest, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment throughout his life.
Jorge was the devoted husband of his beloved wife, Yolanda Manchola. Together they built a loving family that remained the center of his life. He was a cherished father to Rosa Ferrer, Jorge E. Manchola Jr., Martha Seidner, and Janet Salgado. He was preceded in death by one daughter.
He was the proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren: Vanessa Rodriguez, Adriana Galvis, Claudia Galvis, Sandra Salgado, Christina Salgado, Matthew Seidner, Melissa Seidner, Daniel Seidner, Jason Seidner, Valarie Manchola, Emily Manchola, and Christopher Manchola.
Jorge was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Alessandra Butler, Zhilina Rasheed, Mariah Cintron, Kamyrn Cintron, Jourdan Galvis, Dean Abdeljaber, Jaylin Seidner, Dani Seidner, Penelope Seidner, Owen Seidner, and Angelo Adames. He was preceded in death by his great-great-granddaughters, Jayliani Adames and Heaven Adames. Jorge also leaves behind the treasured legacy of being a great-great-grandfather.
Above all, Jorge will be remembered for his lifelong love of music. From a young age, singing brought him joy, and he shared that gift generously with everyone around him. His music, warmth, and vibrant spirit connected family and friends across generations and distances. Those who knew him will remember his beautiful voice, his kindness, and the happiness he brought into their lives.
Jorge was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. His legacy of love, faith, hard work, and music will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. His Funeral Mass began at 12:00 P.M. at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal, PA 19046. His graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
Religious services were conducted by Fr. Joseph Okonski.
